Next in our newborn cloth diaper review series is the Grovia AIO Newborn Diaper. Like the name suggests, this is an All-In-One (AIO) diaper, meaning its soaker is stitched in (so no stuffing after doing laundry–yay!). The soaker is made of three layers of hemp/cotton and topped with micro-fleece. It fits babies from 5-12 lbs. The Grovia AIO Newborn Diaper is a great choice for those who have small babies but are looking for good quality and absorption.

Fit
The Grovia AIO Newborn Diaper has one set of adjustable rise snaps so you can get a good fit on the legs. It is important to get a good fit on skinny little newborn legs, which is the number one cause of leaks in newborns. It is a diaper meant for very teeny babies, so it won’t last you long. For my girls, who were 8 and 9 pounds respectively, it meant this diaper did not fit them for more than a couple months. If you typically have smaller babies, multiples, or end up have a preemie, you may get more use out of this diaper.
Absorbency
The Grovia AIO Newborn Diaper is made of a hemp/cotton blend. These natural materials hold more liquid than a synthetic material. The micro-fleece topper means the material against the baby’s skin stays dry, and liquid is more quickly absorbed. The high quality materials mean the diaper is quite absorbent, despite how tiny it is.
Trimness
The Grovia AIO Newborn Diaper is very trim! It is comparable to a disposable. If you’re looking for a diaper that fits well under clothes (maybe you’re hoping to make all the newborn-sized clothing last more than two weeks!), then this diaper is for you.
Appearance
In the past, I haven’t loved many of Grovia’s prints, but recently, they’ve been upping their game and now offer a lot of prints I love. My favs are Ballot and Onyx Stripe.
Price
The Grovia AIO Newborn Diaper retails at $21.95 CND, or $15.95 US. This is a pricier newborn diaper, but it does have quality design and materials. If you have a smaller baby, this diaper would definitely be worth the price. However, if, like me, your baby is bigger, you may not get a lot of use out for this diaper before it becomes too small. One last note: because Grovia is a great brand name and the diapers are so well-made, the re-sale value for these diapers are very good!
Should I Buy This Diaper?
In conclusion, moms of small babies will love this diaper, but moms of bigger babies may not get a lot of use out of it. It all depends on the size of your baby, which can be tricky to determine before birth! Either way, you can rest assured that you’ll be able to resell this diaper for a good price after you’ve finished with it.
