Great March Break Activities and Toys

It’s that season again… March Break is rhere! Today I’m here to share some great ideas for March Break 2024 survival!

Some items featured in this post were provided to me free of charge for testing purposes. As always, all opinions are my own!

March Break is fast approaching and I want to share what I’m purchasing to keep my two girls, age 5 and 8, busy for March Break. These fantastic toys would also make great March Break gifts for many little boys as well.

As much fun as March Break is, it can be challenging to entertain your children and fill the day. A few key purchased of toys and games will make your March Break more relaxing and fun for everyone at your house!

My strategy this year is to go for lots of outdoor toys mixed with some favorite brands, which are always a huge hit with my children. I’m also including some toys and games that will work on math and literacy skills.

March Break Ideas for Kids:

So without further ado, here are my top picks for March Break ideas for 2024:

Gazilllion Bubbles Bubble Blaster

Gazillion Bubbles Bubble Blaster

Like every child, my girls love to play with bubbles. And a parent, I know that one of two things will happen. Either my kids spill all their bubbles, or I end up being the one who has to blow them. Well take your March Break up a notch with Gazillion Bubbles Bubble Blaster. This innovative design allows your child to switch from a handheld blaster and freestanding bubble machine; the best of both worlds! Be sure to stock up on refills, because your kids will want to play with this toy every day!

LOL Water Balloon Surprise Tot

L.O.L. Water Balloon Surprise Tots

I don’t know about you, but my elementary school-aged daughter just loves LOL dolls. The NEW Water Balloon Surprise Tots are perfect for Spring. Head outdoors, sunny or cloudy, or even indoors next to a window, and check out her real water balloons for hair! There are nine dolls to collect, each with their own balloon hairstyles!

MGAs Miniverse Make It Mini Appliances Asst PDQ FP Boba Peach 0004

Miniverse Make It Mini Appliances

Another fabulous March Break gift I know my kiddos will love is the Miniverse Make It Mini Appliance collection (Series 1). Each appliance really works and can hep you make, set and display your favorite Miniverse Make It Mini Food and Beverages!

Playmobil Color

Playmobil Color: Dressing Room

I love this new initiative from Playmobil in collaboration with CRAYOLA, which celebrates children’s creativity. Playmobi Color allow children to use their creativity to design a Playmobil world entirely to their individual experiences and ideas. Individual playsets can be designed and washed off, allowing children to paint their favorite figures again and again. Detailed accessories like wigs, dresses skirts and make-up counter are also included. This is a homerun for my children, who love to add their own twist to dress up their toys.

The Cloudbox is a unique projector and storyteller, perfect for babies as well as children up to 8 years old. It includes prerecorded lullabies, sleep soundtracks, and 32 prerecorded stories in both French and English.  It also has a recording function, allowing parents and children to record their own bedtime stories. This is a great way to make bedtime smoother for March Break and beyond. It is a portable, making it perfect for March Break trips.

Mattel Games:

Family games make for a great March Break activity and Mattel has some of the best offerings around.

pictionary game

Pictionary is a classic game that allows children to perfect their drawing and communication skills. Players use markers to draw their best rendition of the clue on the card. A great game for ages 8+.

blokus game

Blokus is a new addition to our family game collection and is fabulous for developing spatial awareness, which is a crucial math skill. This game is reccomended for &+, but in my experience, is still accessible for 5-6 year olds as well.

Melissa and Dough ABC Puzzle

As a teacher, I know it’s never to young to expose children to the alphabet. This ABC Puzzle from Melissa and Doug will provide exposure to the alphabet shapes in a fun play-based setting.

Crayola Window Cling Makers

We bought a similar Crayola kit for a cousin for last Christmas and my daughter hasn’t stopped talking about it since. I know she’ll be thrilled when she gets her very own kit this year. I’m guessing we’ll have gel forms all over the house come March Break!

Fancy Nancy Books

I love Fancy Nancy books and so do my girls! My oldest loves the funny stories and empathizes with Fancy Nancy’s love of all things ornate. My youngest loves looking at the beautifully illustrated pictures in the books. I love that Fancy Nancy books are wonderful for vocabulary development.

Karen Katz Books

Karen Katz books are perfect for babies and young toddlers. Their lift-the-flap style is super engaging for babies. The expressive faces of the babies featured are so cute! This year, we’re giving our youngest Baby Loves Springtime.

Melissa and Doug Career Magnetivity

I don’t know about you, but I’m so sick of princess or fashion model dress up sets! I love that this career-focused dress up set is unisex and focused on meaningful careers instead of superfluous clothing. I want my girls to know it’s what’s inside that counts, not the way you look or the clothes you wear.

Melissa and Doug Made by Me Magnets

Crafts are crucial in a time like this. They’re a great distraction for when we feel cooped up in the house. I love the Created by Me series from Melissa and Doug because it really puts power into children’s hands to become creators and create useful items.

Melissa and Doug Bird House Craft Kit

Another Created by Me set from Melissa and Doug, this one is a Bird Feeder. It’s such a cute kit and perfect for spring!

The scrunchy rage has transcended adults and has sweeping even preschoolers now. My oldest is jonesin’ for a scrunchy so she’s getting her heart’s desire! I got a locally made scrunchy for my daughter, but these ones have a similar look.

Well moms, those are my top picks for March Break ideas for little girls! I hope this helps you create a peaveful and fun March Break!
