Today I’m reviewing the Blueberry Newborn Simplex All-In-One Cloth Diaper. This diaper is very similar to my absolute favorite cloth diaper and has a ton of advantages. It is one of my go-to diapers. I had two in my stash when Hannah was little and I actually ordered three more of these diapers when I was pregnant with Grace because I thought they were so great! Keep reading to find out why I love this diaper so much and see if it’s a good fit for your little one too!

I was not compensated for this review and all my opinions are my own.

Notice the extra snap in the middle to keep the diaper away from the umbilical cord while it heals!

The Blueberry Newborn Simplex has a great fit. These are larger newborn diapers which will fit babies from 6-16 lbs and beyond. I could get a good fit on both my babies from the time they were teensy newborns (bonus: There’s a snap down front panel on the diaper to protect the umbilical cord while it heals, meaning you can use it from birth) and they continued to fit well into Hannah’s first year. Grace is currently 12 lbs and still has plenty of room to grow in these diapers. Blueberry diapers are the best diapers I’ve found in terms of fitting a newborn well and continuing to fit an older baby. Because I have big babies, I hate newborn diapers that only last up to 12 lbs since they will only fit for a couple months. This diaper has lasting power!

The Blueberry Newborn Simplex has excellent absorbency. It has 12 layers of 100% organic cotton twill fabric. The natural fabric holds a lot of liquid. Bonus: this is an all-in-one diaper with a pocket opening, so you can add an extra insert if needed (you probably won’t!). I find I rarely have leaks with this diaper (only when we’ve been on a long outing or Grace takes an extra long nap). When the diaper is COMPLETELY wet, we have had a few leaks coming from the tag sewn on to the diapers. This is usually my fault due to poor planning of diaper changes and not wanting to wake a sleeping baby from a good long nap (I’m not crazy)!

As I mentioned in this post, Blueberry diapers have my absolute favorite prints! They have a great variety of boy, girl and unisex prints. I adore all their prints and I often have to fight myself from ordering more because they are just so darn cute!

Drying Time

The Blueberry Newborn Simplex dries relatively slowly, as it is made from natural fabric. I love that its soaker pad is only attached on one side, so it flips out, cutting drying time down  compared to other all-in-one diapers made of natural materials. If I hang this diaper to dry at night, it is ready to use by the morning.

The Blueberry Newborn Simplex is a pricier newborn diaper. It retails at $24.95 CDN and $19.95 USD, but it is made of quality materials and will last far longer than most newborn diapers. They also hold up well really well after months of usage. There’s virtually no difference between the first Newborn Simplex’s that I bought four years ago and those I bought a few months ago. To me, it is well worth the price!

The Blueberry Newborn Simplex is by far my favorite newborn diaper that is currently being manufactured. They are perfect for anyone looking to find a quality diaper that will fit a brand new baby and can continued to be used well into baby’s first year.  If you love diapers with adorable prints, the Blueberry Newborn Simplex is definitely the way to go! If I could go back in time, I would buy a whole newborn stash of these awesome diapers!
