Hey There Mamas!
I’m Cindy, the creator of Living for the Sunshine and a teacher by profession. I teach kindergarten and have recently taken a position as a District Literacy Lead. I have a B.A. in History, B.Ed in Elementary Education and M.Ed in Curriculum Studies.
In addition to teaching, I’m the mom to two little girls, ages one and four. I’m also the mom to one big ole puppy dog who thinks she is also a kid. In my increasingly shrinking spare time, I love to read, bake and chai tea.
I created Living for the Sunshine to help moms everywhere with their journey through motherhood. Motherhood can be so overwhelming. From the time you find out you’re pregnant, you’re faced with big decisions to make, and even more to make once baby is born. In fact, those important choices feel like they never stop coming, from feeding, sleeping, potty-training and more.
From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I wanted to know everything about becoming a mother to prepare myself for making the best decisions I could. I did tons of research, but found that hearing real moms sharing their perspective also helped me make informed decisions.
My purpose for this blog is to combine evidence-based research and the perspective from real moms, to help other moms to make it through the journey of motherhood and provide the best for their children.
To me, living for the sunshine is about truly enjoying the sunny moments of motherhood. I am also learning to dance in the rain, knowing that even in the middle of a storm, the sun is always ready to peak through. I hope to be a resource for other moms and a support when times get tough and decisions have to be made!
