I am a huge fan of celebrating any and all holidays (check out the Halloween crafts and activities we’ve been trying out), but as a mom, I am always a bit hesitant around Halloween. It’s a really fun holiday, but it is so entwined with junk food that it always seems to end in disaster (a.k.a. toddler sugar high meltdowns).
I love these recipes because they encompass all the fun and spookiness of Halloween without all the sugar. Let’s face it, our kids are going to have plenty of junk food while trick or treating. We don’t need to fuel the sugar high all day long.
Treats for Halloween School Parties
The fun but healthy Halloween treats below are also perfect for school parties. Check out these adorable treat bags if you are planning on sending in snacks!
Class Halloween parties are something I always hated as a teacher, because we inevitably received a ton of sugary junk-filled treats for our parties. Every year, kids end up with tummy aches, headaches and tears, so many tears!
Your kid’s teacher will LOOOOOVE you for sending in a healthy treat that will balance out all the junk food sent in Halloween day
(You could also send in these cute non-food Halloween favors if you’re short on time or motivation to make a snack).
Many schools also have a nutrition policy that asks parents to send only healthy treats for parties. These snacks would be perfect for a healthy Halloween party.
Finally, if you’re throwing a Halloween party for your kids’ friends, do yourself a favour and throw in a few of these healthy Halloween treats alongside your candy bowl.

Healthy Halloween Snacks Perfect for the Lunchbox
Here are some snacks that are perfect to pack in lunch boxes. These snacks don’t easily spill, but will still wow with the cute factor!
You can easily pop into a lunch box to send to school with your kiddo (check out these adorable holiday lunch notes that would be a perfect addition to your healthy snacks).
These would also be great for class parties if your school that only allow pre-packaged Halloween snacks to be sent in.
You might also send these in if you know there are students with allergies (as a teacher, I always feel for these kids, who sometimes don’t get to partake in Halloween party food, or are only allowed to have one or two items while the other kids are pigging out).
