Easter is almost here and it is the perfect time to incorporate STEM activities into your Easter celebrations. STEM activities are fun, educational and will keep your little one engaged and busy! Read below for some amazing Easter STEM activities!
What is STEM?
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM activities are very educational and a great way for kids to have hands-on fun while learning. STEM activities engage kids in challenges and encourage out of the box thinking. STEM challenges are a great way to entertain your kids while educating them.
STEM/STEAM
You may be wondering what the difference between STEM and STEAM. The A in STEAM stands for Art, which complements other STEM components. The art in STEAM uses the child’s creativity and design. Art should be open-ended, versus crafts, which focus on recreating a model (usually provided by an adult).
Although I am referring to this post as Easter STEM Activities, many of the activities I suggest incorporate the element of Art as well.
Easter STEM Activities
I’ve scoured the internet to bring you some amazing STEM activities perfect for Easter. These activities use physics, chemistry, math, engineering and more. Your child can make and confirm predictions, make observations and learn about the properties of a variety of materials.
These activities are easy to plan and use common household materials and Easter decor items. They’re easy to set up and make for great entertainment.
