Easter Egg Activities for Toddlers

As Easter approaches, your toddler might be getting quite excited for the big holiday. There are plenty of fun Easter-themed activities you can do with your toddler (check out this post on Easy & Adorable Easter Crafts or this one on Easter STEM activities).

Using the plastic Easter eggs you’ve likely bought for the big day is a great way to entertain your toddler (if you don’t have any on hand, I love the bright and colourful designs on these ones). At my house I re-use the plastic eggs from year to year. I have a big stash in my basement to pull-out every Easter.

Instead of only using your Easter eggs for the big hunt Easter morning, why not use them all month? There are so many fun Easter activities for your little one. You’ll get lots of use out of your eggs before you put them away for another season.

I’ve rounded up 15 fun ways to use plastic Easter eggs in fun and creative ways. These activities are easy enough for your toddler to complete with minimal assistance because there’s nothing worse than a “toddler activity” where the adult has to do all the work!

These plastic Easter egg activities include activities ideas for sensory play, math and patterning skills, musical instruments, snacks and gardening. All of the activities are super fun for toddlers! They’re also great learning activities, because at this age, just about EVERYTHING is a learning activity for your toddler.

I know my daughters love these activities and I hope your children will have just as much fun!

This activity from Toddler Approved promotes fine motor skills and will be a ton of fun for your little ones, because what toddler doesn’t like water play? I recommend a large storage container to contain the mess. Be sure to have a couple of extra towels handy for this activity!

Another great sensory bin activity your toddler will love. This time, coloured rice is involved, but you could use any filler you’d like, such as beans, sand, or even oatmeal.
