Christmas Cookie for Santa
Every year, one of my favorite Christmas traditions is baking cookies for Santa with my daughter. On Christmas Eve we make gingerbread men and decorate them together. She wears a sweet Christmas apron handmade by my mom (my sister and I had identical aprons as children when we did Christmas baking with my own mother).
By them end of our baking session, we are both covered with flour and icing and the kitchen is wrecked, but we have had a blast! Luckily, we don’t host Christmas at our house, so I don’t have to worry about a messy kitchen on Christmas!
That night, she proudly displays the cookies we’ve baked on a special plate, along with carrots for the reindeer and a big glass of chocolate milk! I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing sweeter to me than a child-decorated cookie. I’m sure Santa appreciates her special efforts. 😉
We always write a letter to Santa to wish him a safe journey and as a few last minute burning questions about Christmas at the North Pole.
Santa always leaves her a cookie in the morning along with a reply to our letter. She is always so thrilled that Santa is ‘sharing’ the cookies with her!
Cookie-baking is one of the Christmas traditions I cherish and look forward to each year!
